A wave of grief has hit the family and faith community following the passing of Ssalongo Emmanuel Musigire, father to Pastor Joseph Sserwada, who died on May 15, 2026, at the age of 98.
In a message shared with family, friends, and well-wishers, Pastor Sserwada expressed gratitude to God for the long life of his father, noting that he was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1927, and lived a full life of nearly a century.
“We thank God for the gift of life that He has accorded him,” the family said in a statement, encouraging relatives and friends to stand together in prayer and support during this period of mourning.
The family has announced a detailed send-off programme beginning with a vigil on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at their home in Nsawo Village, Namugongo, Wakiso District. A celebration of life service will follow on Sunday, May 17, at Victory Christian Centre in Ndeeba at 3:00 p.m., before the final burial and committal on Monday, May 18, at 2:00 p.m. in Luwanga Village, Nabutongwa Parish, Kalungu Sub-county, Kalungu District.
The burial service will be preceded by a church ceremony from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with the family inviting friends and mourners to join them in honoring the life and legacy of the late Musigire Emmanuel.
