President Museveni and U.S Ambassador Hold Productive Meeting at Statehouse

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni convened a constructive meeting today with the United States Ambassador to Uganda, H.E William W. Popp, at State House-Entebbe.

The discussions revolved around several crucial matters, notably the upcoming population census, regional peace and stability, and socio-economic development. Both leaders emphasized the importance of conducting a comprehensive and inclusive census to gather essential data for informed decision-making and effective governance.

The conversation extended to regional peace and stability, where President Museveni shared insights on ongoing efforts to promote peace and security in the region. He stressed the need for collaborative efforts among nations to tackle common challenges and foster stability, ensuring the well-being of all citizens.

Moreover, President Museveni and Ambassador Popp explored strategies for socio-economic development, aiming to bolster Uganda’s growth and prosperity while strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Popp expressed gratitude for the President’s valuable time and insights, acknowledging his profound knowledge and experience.

He further emphasized the significance of sustained dialogue to nurture a robust and mutually beneficial relationship between the United States and Uganda.

The meeting was attended by distinguished officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gen. Jeje Odongo, the Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs, Hon. Jacob Oboth-Oboth, the Permanent Secretary-Ministry of Defence, Ms. Rosette Byengoma, and the Deputy Chief of Defence Forces, Lt. Gen. Samuel Okiding.
