SFC blasts ‘malicious’ media reports against Brig Bainababo

0

The Special Forces Command has dismissed as untrue reports that their deputy commander, Brig Charity Bainababo was sent for a refresher course to among others work on her people management skills.

In response to an article by some sections of the media, SFC said the report lacked any “iota of truth” as it based on unfounded allegations.

“Whereas it is true Gen Bainababo has been sent to the National Defence College for further studies, this is a normal routine in the UPDF. UPDF is a disciplined force and no officer is above the law. There is nothing like sending an officer for a course when they have done something wrong or broken the army’s code of conduct,” Maj Jimmy Omara, the SFC spokesperson said.

“She’s not the first to be sent for such a prestigious course as they are usually sent to gain more capabilities as they climb to the helm of the leadership of the Army.”

According to Maj Omara, the allegations raised in the article are baseless since none of the mentioned officers has ever raised any complaint against Brig Bainababo for disciplinary action.

“The article  is therefore an attempt to undermine her credentials as a progressive lady officer which we cannot allow. We condemn in the strongest terms this kind of writing and we call upon the media body to investigate the motive behind this article.”
