Six nominated for Dokolo Woman MP seat on first day

At least six candidates have today been duly nominated to contest for Dokolo District Woman MP by close of business on day one.

According to the Dokolo district electoral commission returning officer, Erikwaine Ngobi, four of the nominated candidates are vying on party tickets while two are independent candidates.

FDC candidate Dr. Rosemary Alwoc Ogwal after she was nominated to contest for Dokolo district Woman MP seat which was previously occupied by her late mother, Hon. Cecilia Ogwal Barbrah Imat.

They include; Adongo Janet Rose (NRM), Alwoc Austin Ogwal Rosemary (FDC), Aguti Sarah (UPC), Akullo Esther-Obot (Ind), Ageno Harriet (NUP),& Lalam Grace Hanna (Ind).

Nomination of candidates for the by-election of District Woman MP, Dokolo and Councillors in electoral Areas in Dokolo district where vacancies exist started today March 11 and will close tomorrow March 12, at 5:00pm.

NRM flag bearer Janet Rose Adongo Elau was the first candidate to be nominated for Dokolo district Woman MP seat on the first day of the nomination exercise on March 11.

Earlier today, the FDC spokesperson John Kikonyogo warned against the use of money, security personnel by the ruling NRM to bribe and intimidate voters in Dokolo. He called on the voters not to bow out to the intimidations but exercise their political rights without fear saying as the party they will summon all means possible to safe guard their votes.


Dokolo Woman member of parliament by-election is slated for Thursday March 21, 2024.
