On March 7, 2024, Mr. Ibrahim Musana, also known as Pressure 24/7, appeared in the dock at Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s court. The State Attorney, Richard Birivumbuka, raised concerns regarding the legitimacy of the two sureties presented by Musana: Brenda Namboozo and Ibrahim Sembatya. These sureties are pivotal for Musana’s bail application as he faces accusations of abusing leaders through his social media platform.

Birivumbuka requested the Magistrates Court at Buganda Road for time to thoroughly investigate the authenticity of the sureties. Musana had enlisted Namboozo and Sembatya to vouch for him and secure his release on bail pending trial.

In response to Birivumbuka’s plea, the court heard that the State intends to verify the residency of the sureties and scrutinize the statements made by Musana during his bail application. “Your honor, we seek for an adjournment to verify the residents and everything that has been said by the defense lawyers and two weeks will be enough for us,” submitted Birivumbuka.

Since February 2024, Musana has been held on remand at Luzira Prison following charges of computer misuse related to his alleged abuse of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, President Museveni, and other leaders through his TikTok account.

Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi granted the State a seven-day period to verify the legitimacy of the sureties before adjourning the case to March 15.

According to the prosecution, led by Birivumbuka and Joan Keko, Musana allegedly shared derogatory information and promoted hostility against four leaders, including Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Speaker of Parliament Annet Anita Among, and State Minister for Information Communication Technology Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo, between August 2023 and February 2024 in Kampala District via his TikTok account, Pressure 24/7.

Court documents reveal that several individuals, including Jennifer Nakanguubi alias Full Figure, lodged complaints against Musana.
