•UPDF 2-0 Busoga United

In a pivotal match for both teams battling relegation, UPDF FC claimed a vital 2-0 win against Busoga United at the Bombo Barracks Military Ground.

Brian Kalumba and Ezekiel Katende were the heroes for the Army side, each netting a goal to secure UPDF’s third win of the season.

The home team dominated proceedings, with Kalumba breaking the deadlock in the 20th minute, heading in a precise cross from Tebandeke Christopher.

Despite Busoga United’s efforts, UPDF maintained control, and Katende extended their lead in the 80th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error to slot home with his weaker foot.

Although Busoga United had their chances, including attempts from Jeremy Matata and Emmanuel Ajo, they failed to convert them into goals.

UPDF goalkeeper Richard Anyama made crucial saves, denying the visitors any opportunity to get back into the game.

The victory marked the end of UPDF’s ten-game winless streak in the league, with their last triumph coming against BUL FC in November.

With this win, UPDF now sits three points below Busoga United in the relegation battle.

Looking ahead, UPDF will face BUL FC in their next fixture on Tuesday, while Busoga United will host Soltilo Bright Stars on Friday.
