KISORO UGANDA: Kisoro General Hospital has received a donation of medical equipment for its Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a move aimed at strengthening healthcare services in the district.
The equipment was officially handed over during a ceremony attended by district health leaders, hospital officials, and representatives of the sponsoring organisations.
The donated items include one nebuliser, six gowns, one weighing scale, two waste bins, three hospital beds, three mattresses, one oxygen concentrator, four bedside screens, one glucometer with strips, one adult wheelchair, one instrument trolley, two drip stands, and eight mosquito nets.
The donation was made by WAWA, Entrepreneurs Organisation, and Kisoro Skills and Resource Development Organisation through funds raised during the Virunga Marathon 2024. The official handover to the district is expected in two weeks.
Speaking at the ceremony, Patrick Kabahanga Mbonye, who represented the sponsoring organisations, said the next phase of support would focus on oxygen equipment and the purchase of a generator to ensure a reliable power supply at the hospital.
