Kyantamba, Namagabi, Bukedea Steal Spotlight as USSSA U17 Netball Championship Heats Up

Kyantamba Secondary School, Namagabi Secondary School, and Bukedea Comprehensive School stole the spotlight on day two of the 2026 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) National Ball Games I U17 Netball Championship, delivering standout performances in a day marked by shocks, close contests, and dominant displays.

Kyantamba SS held their nerve in one of the tightest matches of the day, edging Kyanja High School 19-18 in a thrilling one-goal victory. Namagabi SS also registered an important result, defeating Bulo Parents Secondary School 17-14 to strengthen their position in the competition.

The biggest upset, however, came from tournament newcomers Bukedea Comprehensive School, who stunned Trinity Catholic 24-16. With a youthful squad and a notable height advantage, Bukedea signaled their potential to challenge the tournament’s traditional powerhouses.
Elsewhere, Kawanda Secondary School continued to stamp authority with a commanding 45-02 win over Mariam High School, while Kajjansi Progressive Secondary School reinforced their title ambitions with a dominant 39-07 victory against St. Paul Secondary School.

Mubende Light narrowly saw off Mbarara Army 14-12, St. Francis Secondary School defeated Mt. St. Mary’s Secondary School 28-15, and Ediofe Girls cruised past St. Catherine 31-10. Boston High School delivered one of the most emphatic wins of the day, thrashing Soroti Secondary School 44-04, while URDT beat Iganga Secondary School 21-13.
