Kawempe Muslim Secondary School and Boni Consillii Girls set the pace in the USSSA Girls Football Ball Games I Championship after commanding and hard-fought victories respectively secured their places in the quarter-finals on Monday.
Kawempe Muslim SS delivered a dominant first-half performance to comfortably dispatch St Charles Lwanga Kasasa 4–1 in their round of 16 encounter at UCU Stadium. All four goals came before the break, underlining their attacking efficiency and control of the game.
Belinda Hope Nabawanuka opened the scoring as early as the first minute, calmly finishing off a well-worked move initiated by Shadia Nabirye. Kevin Nanyunja then doubled the advantage with a simple tap-in from Cynthia Kirenga’s delivery before extending the lead with a superb long-range effort, assisted by Brenda Nankya, to complete her brace.

Shadia Nabirye later got her name on the scoresheet to cap off a blistering first-half display for Kawempe. St Charles Lwanga Kasasa managed a late consolation through Happy Jackie Josephine, but it did little to alter the outcome.
The emphatic win sends Kawempe Muslim into a high-stakes quarter-final clash against Rines SS, promising one of the standout ties of the next round.
Elsewhere, Boni Consillii had to dig deep to edge Jinja Comprehensive School 1–0 in a tightly contested fixture played at Nakisunga Playground. In a match defined by discipline and resilience, Boni Consillii held firm to secure progression and book a quarter-final meeting with Jinja Progressive Academy.
Other results saw St Noa Girls cruise past Moyo Star High 5–0, while Latifah Mixed Secondary overcame Uganda Martyrs High School via penalties after a 2–2 draw. Rines SS defeated Nkoma SS 2–0, and Amus College delivered a statement performance with a 6–0 demolition of Sacred Heart Gulu. Bukedea Comprehensive also advanced after edging Standard High School Zana on penalties.
