Nam Blazers secured a commanding 109-93 victory over the UCU Canons, driven by Jimmy Williams and Joseph Chuma, who combined for an impressive 55 points.

Williams, making a strong season debut, dazzled with 22 points and 10 assists, sending early warnings to future opponents.

Chuma was equally dominant, shooting an impressive 15-for-19 from the field to tally 33 points.

The Blazers also received significant contributions from Peter Cheng and Michael Makiadi, who added 17 and 11 points respectively.

The game began with both teams locked in a tight contest, ending the first quarter tied at 25-25.

However, the Blazers began to pull away, establishing a 10-point lead by halftime.

Despite a resilient effort from UCU, highlighted by Ibanda Lwabaga’s three-pointer that trimmed the deficit to five points midway through the final quarter, the Blazers responded with a decisive 19-8 run to seal their victory.

UCU’s effort was led by Lwabaga, who scored 24 points, supported by Kevin Kasobya with 19 points, Peter Sifuma with 17, and Joel Kayiira adding 10.

However, their efforts were undermined by 23 turnovers and being out-rebounded 45-35, critical factors that contributed to their defeat.

The win marked a sweet revenge for the Blazers, who had previously lost to the Canons 53-65 in the first round.

With this victory, the Blazers now boast an impressive record of 14 wins out of 17 games, solidifying their position as a formidable force in the league.
