Police in Nakaseke have located the two kidnapped schoolgirls abandoned near the Kabaale Bridge, which connects the district to Kyankwanzi. The motorcycle belonging to the accused abductor, a Bajaj Boxer with registration number UFB 009B, was also found meters away from where the girls were discovered.

Last Friday, police in Nakaseke initiated an investigation into the alleged kidnapping of two young girls from Kirangazi village in Ngoma Sub-County. The victims, identified as Phionah Tusingwire, 4, and Patience Tarindeka, 5, both pupils at Apex Model Primary School in Nakaseke District, were believed to have been abducted by a houseboy named Sande.

He had been entrusted with transporting them to school on Friday morning. Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson Sam Twiineamazima reported that the girls, who left home at 7 a.m., did not return at the end of the school day. The houseboy was also missing.

Scovia Kayesu, the mother of the two children, expressed frustration at the failed attempts to locate them. Twiineamazima stated that the mother had reported the incident to Kirangazi Police Station. According to a new police statement, after kidnapping the girls, the suspect began demanding 35 million shillings from their father.

The suspect used the phone numbers 0787479887 and 0785829760. With the help of sophisticated police technology for tracking coordinates, the suspect was initially located in Kiboga District and later moved to Kyankwanzi District.

Under pressure from the police tracking team and community members, the suspect decided to abandon the children near the Kabaale Bridge, which separates Kyankwanzi and Nakaseke Districts. The victims were found at this location on Saturday, March 2, 2024, around 11:20 a.m.

A medical examination conducted on the victims at Ngoma Health Centre IV revealed no evidence of sexual harassment. The motorcycle was found a few meters away from where the victims were discovered. According to Twiineamazima, the children have been reunited with their families.

Meanwhile, joint security forces are conducting a major manhunt for the culprit!
