“Ugandans Have Hope Again” — VUEL Applauds Muhoozi’s Fierce War Against Corruption in Uganda

Lwengo, Uganda: A civil society organisation operating in Uganda has praised the Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, for what it described as his continued efforts in the fight against corruption and graft in the country.

In an open letter dated May 19, 2026, Volunteer Uganda Extra Limited (VUEL), a human rights and anti-corruption organisation based in Lwengo District, commended Gen. Muhoozi for publicly condemning corruption and advocating for accountability in public service.

The letter, signed by the organisation’s president, Mr. Tushabe Bruce Nzabanita, states that corruption remains one of the greatest obstacles to national development, effective service delivery, youth empowerment and social justice in Uganda.

“Your bold stance and public condemnation of corrupt practices have inspired hope among many Ugandans, especially the youth who desire a transparent, accountable, and progressive nation,” the letter reads in part.

VUEL described Gen. Muhoozi’s leadership through the PLU as patriotic and committed to safeguarding public resources and promoting integrity within institutions.

The organisation further noted that the fight against corruption requires courage, consistency and collective responsibility from all citizens regardless of their political, religious or social backgrounds.

“We therefore commend your efforts to encourage accountability, discipline and national unity in pursuit of a better Uganda,” the statement added.

According to the organisation, Gen. Muhoozi’s voice has significantly contributed to raising public awareness on the dangers of corruption and the need for ethical leadership in both government and non-government institutions.

Volunteer Uganda Extra Limited also pledged its readiness to support initiatives aimed at promoting transparency, civic responsibility, youth participation and ethical leadership across the country.

The organisation encouraged the PLU chairman to continue championing the anti-corruption cause and inspiring leaders at all levels to serve the nation with honesty and integrity.

A copy of the letter was also addressed to Mr. David Kabanda, the Secretary General of the Patriotic League of Uganda.

Volunteer Uganda Extra Limited identifies itself as an organisation focused on human rights advocacy, anti-corruption campaigns, legal protection and promoting accountability in public institutions across Uganda.
