Preview: SC Villa Seek To Keep Title Hopes Alive

SC Villa will be confident of securing maximum points when they face Mbarara City in a league clash at Wankulukuku.

The Jogoos are actively contending for the title, currently occupying fourth place with 36 points, trailing leaders Kitara by eight points, albeit having played three games fewer.

And Villa will feel more energised after title rivals Kitara and second-placed BUL played out a goalless draw in Masindi.

If SC Villa triumphs in their three postponed matches, they will leapfrog Kitara to claim the top spot by a point.

However, SC Villa, led by head coach Dusan Stojanovic, understand the challenge ahead and must approach each game as it comes.

They enter this match on a seven-game undefeated streak, having secured a 1-0 victory over BUL in their last outing at Njeru before the international break.

On the other hand, Mbarara City, managed by former SC Villa coach Wasswa Bbosa, enter the fixture on the back of a convincing 5-0 win against Gaddafi.

Despite sitting comfortably above the relegation zone with a ten-point cushion, Mbarara City have struggled on the road this season, failing to secure a single victory and scoring only four goals in their nine away fixtures.
